I've Got A Fang - They Might Be Giants

I've Got A Fang - They Might Be Giants
You will all have to bear with me this week. We lost a beloved dog over the weekend, a 15+ year-old Corgi mix (sordid lineage?) and I'm going to be a bit self-indulgent and run through some music that reminds me of Maxx.

The music of They Might Be Giants' began back in 1982 with the two Johns (Linnell on guitar and Flansburgh playing accordion and saxophone) meeting in high school. Often described as quirky, unconventional or even experimental TMBG fail to please. An early They Might Be Giants claim to fame was their "Dial-A-Song" service (still available today, call (718) 387-6962, "Free when you call from work"- TMBG,  you can hear one of their songs left on an answering machine. Or you can visit the more reliable dialasong.com). They would advertise the phone number as a way of helping to promote the band.  Also, they were one of the first groups out there to sell downloads of their music, realizing the possibilities that the internet could hold for music distribution.
