Adding Fonts

I just got a font online randomly called skull94.jpg.html.  I believe it came from a thread here somewhere and I'm sure I'll run into someone that went to that exact same thread.  Anyway, I've never added a font to any program before be it Word or Photoshop.  I would like to know how to do that.  It doesn't come up in the help section of these places and I want to make sure I don't screw it up.  Plus it's just good to know.

It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt.  Then it's hilarious.

What kind of machine are you using, Etchie? On an Apple these days its just a matter of firing up Font Book then adding a font. Or are you trying to add the font to a specific application?

A word of warning: Adding fonts (and there are TONS of them out there) can be addictive and dangerous. It starts out with one or two here and there. Next thing you know you're searching through a HUGE list of type faces because you haven't found a font you could say "no" to.

And I believe Apple uses Adobes Garamond (but all them 'garamonds' look pretty much the same to me)

Thanks.  Yeah, I'm using an iMac G5.  So if I add  them in Font Book, they'll just appear in my word processor?

actually, I just went to go add it and the file was grayed out.  Is there a certain file ending for fonts?  I was rather suspicious because this new font ends in .html.  Seems kind of fishy to me.

I guess it was just a crappy thing I downloaded.  I've since downloaded the Apple font set and had no problem getting it into the Font Book program.

I don't think something called skull94.jpg.html is a font. There should be something there with either a ZIP or SIT extension, or TTF or something similar.

It was one of those goofy fonts someone had custom made that I found amusing.
